Microblading by Rebecca

FAQ’s on my EpiBrow Microblading in Swindon

07720 259531

How long does Microblading last?

This varies from person to person as everybody’s skin is different and retention of pigment therefore varies, but on average 18 months. However, a colour refresh is recommended on average every 6 months or if your brows retain particularly well, 9-12 months. This keeps the brows fresh and full looking and refreshes any faded pigment. If you choose not to do this then they will just fade out naturally.

What is the minimum age?

You must be 18 years or over.

How long does the Microblading procedure take?

The procedure is split into 2 appointments which are 4-6 weeks apart to allow for the healing process to complete. The initial procedure (foundation brow) will take around 90 minutes, and your second perfection appointment takes around 60 minutes. This is where the brow’s thickness can be added to and colour darkened if required.

Occasionally a third session is required – please see the pricing information on the Price List page for more info on this.

Does Microblading hurt?

No, as Microblading is an invasive treatment a slight scratching sensation may sometimes be felt but would not be regarded as pain. When you arrive a numbing cream is applied, you are numbed for 15-20 minutes and during the procedure an anaesthetic is applied to the area regularly throughout the treatment to keep you comfortable.

Can I have this treatment if I am pregnant?

Although there is no research to suggest this procedure would be detrimental, unfortunately you cannot have this treatment if you are pregnant. If you are breastfeeding, treatment is possible, though anesthetic will not be used.

Do I need a patch test?

Yes, for insurance reasons all clients need a prick test at least 48 hours before the procedure. You will be invited to come in to the salon to receive your patch test and this only takes a minute.

What can I expect from the consultation?

Your initial consultation is a chance to discuss your brow issues, go through Microblading in more detail and perform a patch test. You will also be asked to fill out a health consultation form. Any further questions you may have which haven’t been answered in the FAQ’s section can be discussed too. You do not necessarily need the consultation but you will need to come to the salon at least 48 hours before your treatment to receive your patch test. A thorough consultation is part of your initial Microblading procedure regardless.

What can I expect on the day of the treatment?

Please arrive promptly to your appointment as this will mean you will benefit from the full treatment time. If you are late it cannot be guaranteed that your treatment can take place as I work with a very busy diary and may have another client after you.
On arrival a topical numbing cream will be applied to your brows, this usually takes 15-20 minutes to numb and during this time we will go through your consultation form and discuss your brow concerns if we haven’t already. With your input your new brow shape and design will be created by marking out your desired shape. Colour choices will be discussed and swatched on to your skin. With you, we will review the brow design and check you are happy. Your input is very important to insure we get your desired brow, however I will be guiding you throughout your consultation to help create your dream brows.
When happy with your design your procedure will begin and your ‘Foundation Brow’ will be created. You will be provided with aftercare and an info pack with everything you need to know on how to look after your new brows.

This secures your appointment slot and ensures all the equipment and topical anesthetic needed for your treatment is arranged. The deposit will be deducted off the full treatment price. You can either pay the remaining amount on your first treatment, or split the remaining amount over your initial treatment and the top up.
